HERTZ – Android Jones

Category_Uncategorized Hyperdigital Portraits

Music has been a huge part of my life and I've spent a lot of time trying to render the multi-dimensional auditory experience into 2 dimensions. Music has the ability to heal and to tear us asunder. Ken Wilbur says no belief system is 100% wrong and I apply this concept to all different genres of electronic music. I'm a downtemp electronic guy myself, but I curated a playlist of the most painfully aggressive Dub-Step I could find and like a digital Ulysses, tied myself to the mast of my Wacom pen. As the robot-siren song violated all my preconceived ideas of rhythm, harmony, and any semblence of beauty, as my consciousness was thrashed against the rocks of mechanized bass frequencies, this was the primal, digital scream that wanted to be released. My personal taste in music is irrelevant, obviously these sounds are the voice of a new generation and perhaps on the surface, it appears as if it would tear you apart. But on the other end of that frequency there's a human being and in their world, this music might be the best creative thought technology they have of signaling to their tribe and their potential mate. At the end of the day, you could see it as a love song. And sometimes, love Hertz.
